New PCR-test rule for foreign passengers arriving to Russia

According to the decision of the Russian Federation’s Chief Sanitary Physician the PCR-test validity period for all foreign nationals arriving to the Russian Federation (including transiting the Russian Federation towards third countries) is limited to 48 hours (previously – 72 hours) starting from 9-th December. The period of validity of a negative result of PCR test for COVID-19 begins from the time of the negative test result.

Please, bear in mind that if the PCR-test is made beyond this time limit, the airline has the right to deny check-in and boarding the plane to Russia.

The Consular Section of the Embassy informs that Consular section accepts visa application forms completed online only on the special website of the Consular Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affair of the Russian Federation http://visa.kdmid.ru.

An applicant should visit the Consular Section of the Embassy personally.

Application forms should be filled in English or in Russian, printed and signed by applicants personally.

All questions in application forms should be answered. Incomplete visa application forms will not be processed. Visa application forms taken from other Internet sources as well as hand-written visa application forms will not be accepted.

Visa processing commences only after all necessary and proper documents have been presented by an applicant and accepted by a consular officer. Incomplete set of documents may lead to refusal of visa processing, or documents may be returned to an applicant undone.

In some cases the Consular officer may request additional documents.

Visa processing fees are not refundable.

Processing times, requirements and fees are subject to change without notice.

The following documents should be submitted to the Consular Section of the Embassy by an applicant in person in order to obtain a private visa:

1) A valid passport (and a copy) which should have at least two clear visa pages and must be valid for not less than 6 months after the expiry date of the visa. 

2) Properly and fully completed and printed visa application form (one per person) http://visa.kdmid.ru.

3) Two recent photos of an applicant sized 3,5 x 4,5 cm.

4) 1. An origin of official invitation issued by an appropriate local migration branch of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs

    or

    2. A printed copy of an electronic invitation.

The following documents should be submitted to the Consular Section of the Embassy by an applicant in person in order to obtain a private visa:

1) A valid passport (and a copy) which should have at least two clear visa pages and must be valid for not less than 6 months after the expiry date of the visa. 

2) Properly and fully completed and printed visa application form (one per person) http://visa.kdmid.ru.

3) Two recent photos of an applicant sized 3,5 x 4,5 cm.

4) 1. An origin of official invitation issued by an appropriate local migration branch of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs

    or

    2. A printed copy of an electronic invitation.

The following documents should be submitted to the Consular Section of the Embassy by an applicant in person in order to obtain a business or humanitarian visa:

1) A valid passport (and a copy) which should have at least two clear visa pages and must be valid for not less than 6 months after the expiry date of the visa. 

2) Properly and fully completed and printed visa application form (one per person) http://visa.kdmid.ru.

3) Two recent photos of an applicant sized 3,5 x 4,5 cm.

4) 1. An origin of official invitation issued by an appropriate local migration branch of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs or Consular Department of Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

    or

    2. A printed copy of an electronic invitation.

The following documents should be submitted to the Consular Section of the Embassy by an applicant in person in order to obtain a work visa:

1) A valid passport (and a copy) which should have at least two clear visa pages and must be valid for not less than a year and 6 months after the expiry date of the visa. 

2) Properly and fully completed and printed visa application form (one per person) http://visa.kdmid.ru.

3) Two recent photos of an applicant sized 3,5 x 4,5 cm.

4) 1. An origin of official invitation issued by an appropriate local migration branch of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs

    or

    2. A printed copy of an electronic invitation.

The following documents should be submitted to the Consular Section of the Embassy by an applicant in person in order to obtain a transit visa:

1) A valid passport (and a copy) which should have at least two clear visa pages and must be valid for not less than one and a half-year after the expiry date of the visa.

2) Properly and fully completed and printed visa application form (one per person) http://visa.kdmid.ru.

3) Two recent photos of an applicant sized 3,5 x 4,5 cm.

4) Valid tickets for entry and exit from the Russian Federation.

5) A valid visa to the country you want to enter after leaving Russia or passport of that state.
